Are Psychological Assessments and consultations covered under OHIP?
Unfortunately no. Please check your workplace extended health benefit plan to see if Psychological Services (delivered by a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario) are covered. It will be important to ask questions about your benefit timelines (e.g., some plans go from January to December while others start in September) and about any hourly caps/limits. Some assessment fees can be billed to parents/guardians for their participation during the assessment process. Any fees that are not covered through the benefit plan might also be claimed as a medical expense with your taxes - it is recommended that this be discussed with your accountant first.

What Type of Payment Do you Accept?
Cash, cheque, and e-transfers are accepted. Assessment fees will be spread out throughout the assessment process, and will be due after each service is provided (e.g., payment for the intake meeting portion will be due after that service occurs). You will receive a receipt for your payment after it's been processed - that receipt can then be submitted to your benefit plan provider for a refund. Please check with your provider about your benefit amounts/limits, etc.
