Karen has been providing assessment services and consultations to help youth, their families and educators for over twenty years. She was a Psychoeducational Consultant in a local schoolboard for sixteen years and has been in private practice since 2019.
Karen provides consultations and comprehensive psychoeducational assessments that help address a range of learning and social emotional needs such as Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Autism. Karen has had previous training and experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for children with Autism (1995 to 2002), which has been very helpful in her assessment and consultative work. She works really hard to make the assessment experience as enjoyable as possible for children, teens, and their families. She particularly enjoys providing recommendations that help promote kids’ independence, resiliency, and positive social interactions. Confidentiality, ethics, and open communication are very important in her work.
Karen is a registered Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Her practice area is in School Psychology with children and teenagers. Karen completed her Master of Arts degree in School and Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Toronto (O.I.S.E.) and was registered with the College of Psychologists in 2012.
Karen was born and raised in Guelph and is the proud mother of two children. Activities that spark joy for her include camping with her husband, travelling, spending time with her family, walking her dog, and caring for her plants.
